Sports Card Seller tip: Community first, sell second
It's one of the biggest mistakes I see from people selling sports cards- They focus on selling first.
I go to their twitter profiles, or facebook pages, and it's literally just a feed of listings they have on some other platform. On top of that, sometimes there will be a tweet sprinkled in about how they are bummed that something isn't selling, and the "hobby is dead," etc etc.
This is no way to enrich the community that is ultimately the ones who support you as customers.
If you aren't community-oriented, then what are you doing selling cards?
Sorry for being harsh, but seriously. If you don't enjoy cards, find something else to sell or do.
I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to get you to readjust your approach (because I do hope you'll decide to continue being in the hobby, and selling, or what-have-you).
Just be certain that you're using your social media platforms as a means of connecting and discussing.
Believe me, the sales will come over time.
People can read through the BS, and if I or someone else looks at your twitter, and clicks on the section to see your replies to people and finds very little- something is wrong with what you're doing.
Talk to people, talk to people, talk to people. It's not a trick, it's not a bait & switch, and it's not being a fake human being.
Just make sure that you care, and then let people see that you care, and people will respect your business whether they buy from you or not.
