The personal collection challenge!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve caught myself having what I thought was a PC, and it later just being turned into what I didn’t know would become selling inventory.
I know I’m not alone in this, simply because of how many times I’ve purchased a lot off of someone, and then opened it to discover that I could start my own collection of an individual player off of a portion of what came with what I bought (insert 90s television show laugh track).
But I can’t blame collectors for when this happens. Sometimes, we were only collecting a guy because he was on our team, only for us to see him shipped off elsewhere, or sometimes we just need the money, or even decide to move that PC in order to move onto a different player.
I want to, however, offer you a challenge that I am offering myself.
Pick at least one guy, who no matter what, you promise to collect and keep around for the foreseeable future.
This player could be as big or small as you wish (although, I think, the lesser/newer the player, the more likely you are to keep the cards around and watch his career play out).
I personally have that going right now with Andrew Wiggins; I’ve loved watching him play since he was in high school. That’s not to say that you won’t ever see me sell a Wiggins card, though.
I’m trying to think up who that new guy is going to be for me that I committ to truly collecting.
Do you already have a part of your PC that you know will be permanent or at least long-term? Have anyone in mind you’d like to make that be?
Let me know in the comments and let’s do this challenge together!
